First Lady Cup

On the 18th of Nov, 14 tricycle users participated in the annual First Lady Cup in Dili, Timor Leste. Tricycle users from Dili, Alieu, and Tibar represented ASSERT and St Francis Workshop, giving the other walkers and runners a taste of the high level of skill, competitiveness and passion that these men have. Not only did the trike users finish in fantastic time, no one told them to turn around at the half way mark so they rode much further than the 10km required, in addition to the many kms they had to travel to reach the destination!!! They were all presented with a gift from Kirsty Sword Gusmao. It was also a fantastic opportunity for community members to recognize the magnitude of these men’s efforts in overcoming enormous adversity.
